sea legs
this day is bending its dewy stalk in my direction
arching its face to meet mine
to litter me with its sun-stoned kisses
wrap me in its splendor basin of possibilities
bask me in its never been before glow
and here I am dragging
a damp crucible of refusing the past
too busy shouting down a stampede of looping echoes
to hear the chorus of fluttering welcome encircling me,
to unzip the crackling skin of too small histories and
slip out in the dimpled horizon of right now
